Blame Matt (Cairo/Luxor Day 3)

Matt told some people in our group about my blog and now I can’t talk smack about them and, let’s face it, that’s why I write. So if future posts are a snooze fest, Blame Matt.

They’ve divided our group of 40 into two bus groups. Our green bus is blissfully empty while the red bus (The Reds) is full of everyone who doesn’t like us. Word on the street is that The Greens are generally too loud and that tracks.

For our last day in Cairo, we went to the Coptic quarter. We saw a couple of churches and a synagogue and Ahmed told us how well the all religions get along. 🤔

We climbed down to a cave where the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus stayed (Me, “That’s some bullshit”, The Husband: Hushed and reverent as he walks on the very floor his Savior had lain).

Our morning bus lecture was about the promise of the country’s transportation system. Today from the bus I saw an 8 year old Tuk Tuk driver on the highway. I feel like this could be addressed in the 5-year plan. Also this:

This is a horse (no name), in the desert

Tonight we flew to Luxor where we will embark on the boat.

Stay with me, dear reader. If I start writing about facts and dates instead of the juicy bits, blame Matt.

Just onboard with Mohammed the First (so named because we have too many Mohammeds)

Here are some pics of our on board at our safety briefing. The Reds hate us even more.

You can blame Lynn, too. She’s responsible for bringing The Greens together.
