Lynn got excited a few days ago when she heard they’d be showing Murder on the Nile on Sunday on the boat. She said we should all wear our pajamas. Then she appointed herself chair of the PJ Cinema Committee and told us all to recruit pajama wearers. And we did.
Then Sunday came and we were exhausted from behaving ourselves all day, plus Dana took a Dramamine for motion sickness and couldn’t stay awake so we all just headed to bed, avoiding eye contact with anyone in pajamas.
In related news, The Others and The Husband bought Galabia costumes to wear one night to an onboard party. I didn’t. I’m hanging back until I get a feeling for the depth of their commitment.

We cruised last night from Luxor and past Esna then hung a u-ey and woke up this morning in Esna. So basically we went up and down the Nile like lake people.
Today we went to, you guessed it Habibi, another temple. The Edfu temple was cool so Ahmed held my attention for 6 full minutes before I started to wander. The Others stayed with Ahmed and learned to read hieroglyphics while I was trying to get a perfect pic of me jumping midair and had recruited The Husband as my photographer.

After the lecture we recreated the jumping shot with The Wifes. This was my idea (I’d like to feel I’m contributing in meaningful ways). It was also my idea to have The Husbands pose like Egyptian hieroglyphs. (I feel like this was a bold move which had never been done before—these people need me).

Later, Sandy, using the lessons learned from the lecture, read a full hieroglyphics story to us straight off the temple walls. She’s trying to contribute I suppose. Bless her heart.
